We cannot hang on to old ways just because they were our ways. Education 1.0 was passive and often painful, ‘look at me and listen’.
Education 2.0 saw the advent of devices and the ability in some ways to self direct learning. I believe we are on the cusp of Education 3.0. With tools such as AR, VR, mixed reality we can learn anything, anywhere, at anytime from anyone.
Not just in Higher ED or Universities, but Junior and Middle schools. No one has to throw baby out with the bath water. Common sense implementation of new technologies in Education will transform schools, learning and our students potential.
It’s an incredibly exciting time to be an educator, but not one to sit still and dig your feet in. You will be swept away.
